Augmented Distance Learning: an experience of Augmented Reality education during COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption of education systems in history, with closures of schools and other learning spaces that have highly impacted in the world’s student population. The learning process has completely changed with the increasing use of digital platform. In this context, this paper aims at demonstrating how technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) can improve students learning experience in enriched multimodal education environments. Experiments have been performed in a remote learning lesson, with the use of Zoom as delivery platform. The results indicated that students had a positive attitude toward the use of AR and perceived it as having a positive effect on their learning experience and their motivation to learn.
